This Instruction reissues DoD Directive 1332.29, July 20, 1985, under authorities delegated in Deputy Secretary of Defense Memorandum, "Delegation of Authority Relating to Separation pay," June 15, 1991. This Instruction also implements legislative changes (Section 501 of Public Law 101-510, "National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1991," November 5, 1990) to Title 10, United States Code and updates policy, procedures, and responsibilities for determining eligibility for seperation pay for Regular and Reserve members who are involuntarily seperated from active duty (AD).

Note: This Regulation is available in both PDF File Format and ASCII Format. While ASCII will load faster, it will not contain tables and photos which may be available in the original document. If you choose the PDF Format, you must first download and install the FREE PDF Viewer Program from Adobe Software. Depending on your Internet connection speed, large regulation files may take several minutes to download before they can be viewed.
